I didn't want to rewrite the MBR because I figured all my games would have been lost. I had to find it by going into disk management via the control panel and then found an unallocated drive. I couldn't even find the drive when I did. Check their page to visit their site and order the 1tb drive directly.I didn't reformat when I installed it into windows. Just note this is a third party seller that advertises on but they ship internationally.

Oohhh Sayy it onnceee/saayy it twiicceee/just say it anyway you like iiiiitttt.Ultra anyone? No? 90's Brit band? oookkk. If you team up a USB 3.0 with another USB 3.0 like the ps4 then you are cooking with GAS my friend! USB 3.0 are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 BUT speed is limited to that of USB 2.0. So USB 3.0 is faster and more power efficent than it's predecessor Mr. I'm going to take the time to explain the difference in USB numbers here.Seriously, save the hassle, do it for you. You have to walk to the PC, turn it on, plug in the drive, open windows, click things, get lost, frustrated, and give up. It is a MAJOR hassle to reformat a drive. I can't emphasize the importance of pre-formatted enough. If you spend a lot of time on PSN and download tons of content, then you are going to need this. OK this is definitely for those that are absolutely serious about their online gaming. They have all come up as ps3 compatible, some may be 3.0 USB but they are backwards compatible with 2.0

The following drives have been tried, tested and reviewed on by ps3 owners. FAT32 is usually partitioned into 32GB blocks, but you can get around that, it will have the 4gb file limit on file size for transfers though. The only difference is that NTFS has to be reformatted first. Buying an external hard drive that is already formatted with FAT32 makes no difference to performance.Unless you plan on getting a ps4.The ps4 will have USB 3.0 ports Make sure the external hard drive is USB 2.0 not 3.0, unless the 3.0 is backwards compatible. As silly as it may sound, ensure you get an external hard drive that is bigger than the capacity of your current drive so you can fit all your current data onto it! Sounds easy to remember, but you'd be surprised.Ok, now that's out of the way, here's a few specs to go by, so there's no problems down the road. The ps4 has 3.0 USB ports, and is able to take full advantage of the 3.0 usb HDDs.
